Building and Facade Upgrade, Kogarah Council Service Centre

bokor architecture + interiors refurbished an existing vacant library building for Kogarah City Council to establish a new Customer Service Centre with associated offices and tenancy space.

The interior of the old and vacant library building was fully upgraded to create a new and welcoming facility, incorporating a large reception area, casual meeting spaces and community notice boards.

Energy efficient solutions are integral to the design with a 'brise soleil' facade for sun control, energy efficient mechanical systems and new low energy lighting throughout. The existing roof has been adapted and converted to a trafficable green roof with detention tanks, installed to collect and recycle rain water for irrigation and toilet flushing.

As well as being practical, the facade provided a fresh look for an existing building which incorporated the councils corporate colours.
